Wenatchee Apple Blossom Festival is an annual tradition with parades, fairs, carnivals, and car shows. Diane Younkin was lucky enough to ride one of the floats in the parade that her mom Valena had designed. The royalty was from Sunnyslope, Diane was a princess and John Benim was the float designer and Stuart McDougall was one of the matadors. The name of the float was 'Lady of Spain'. Jimbo the climber

Jim became interested in climbing to a degree of driving pitons in the basement concrete wall and bivouacking in what was then his bedroom. Out of the many mountain tales his most memorable lesson was never climb on Sunday. Jim was caught in an avalanche on Dragontail, a steep face in the Stuart Mountain Range, where a week later a fellow climber was killed in a rock slide. Jim was caught in a snowslide.
